Backslash Expressions are a substitute/workaround for the lack of multi-line support Regular Expressions support in Programmer's Notepad. The Regular Expression engine is scheduled to be updated, but until then Backslash Expressions offer some of the missing functionality.
\\Note\\: Backslash Expressions and Regular Expressions should not be used together, as one will override the other.
