Hi,

I’ve been using NotetabPro for over ten years to do my coding. I might switch over to Programmer’s Notepad but it’s dependent on whether I can fully utilize the text clips.

The probem: how do I create a new item in the text clip dropdown?

I can easily add new text clips to the dropdown. I’ve added a dozen text clips to the XHTML dropdown, but what I want to do is have a new item in the dropdown for a language that isn’t currently supported.

I’ve tried placing clip files in the “user settings” area as mentioned many times here, and I’ve copied clips files and changed names, but nothing happens. It’s pretty frustrating so hopefully someone can shed some light. Yes, I’ve read virtually all the documentation, but… it’s a bit lacking in some areas.

Thanks,

Scot

Hi,

Which language are you trying to add clips to? You should just be able to select the relevant scheme and start adding clips. For dropping clips in make sure they go in a directory with a name matching the scheme name (open up the .scheme files to check you’ve got the name right).

It’s relatively unknown, mivascript. There is no schema. After pouring over docs and looking at the files and such I realize that I need to make a schema in order to have a schema dropdown :)

One question about making a schema:

In miva script, we sometimes have open tags, that is, something like this can happen:

<MvASSIGN NAME = “l.var” VALUE = “foo”>

However, we can also have something like this:

<MvIF ….>
some code…
</MvIF>

Any tips on adding some kind of rule to the schema that would ignore folding on the “Open” tags such as MvASSIGN above? Right now if I add miva clips to the XHTML schema the folding goes awry.

Thanks.
