I just spent a little while looking for a way to change the cursor for the “Plain Text” or “default” scheme, but couldn’t find a way. All 30 other schemes can have a different default cursor however. The reason I would like it changed is because the black cursor is impossible to see if you have an inverted (white text on black background) setup. If anyone knows what name I would need to use in the UserSettings.xml file or some other way I would appreciate it

Try this just under the UserSettings tag:

<override-colours caret=”e6e6fa” />

Let me know if that works.

Also in recent versions you can change the cursor colour on the Style options page – doesn’t this work for you?

It turns out it works in the development version. A problem with that version is the buttons at the top are not properly displayed, it looks like parts which are intended to be transparent are showing up as black. This is minor however so I am not really worried about it. Thanks a lot!

This is a known bug on non-XP/non-highcolour systems with this build. It’ll be fixed before the stable build goes out.
