Hi First of all: Pnotepad is the best editor to program x86 i have found yet, so: congratulations. But there are still a few features i miss: 1. Minimize to Tray 2. Transparency for Textbackground 3. Buttons for the toolbar for self added tools Keep up the good work. mangfu PS: By the way: what is the “request feature”-button supposed to do? |

> 1. Minimize to Tray Note: This is just my usual rant about the abuse of the notification area. You may skip to the next section. a) there is no “tray”, see [1] b) of what use would an editor be that is minimized to the notification area? That poor little abused thing is not supposed to replace the taskbar > 2. Transparency for Textbackground Transparent to what? The editor color? The MDI area? The desktop? Neither of these options seem very useable and only some sort of eyecandy. > 3. Buttons for the toolbar for self added tools That would be nice. – bg [1] http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/archive/2003/09/10/54831.aspx P.S.: Why is this textarea so tiny? |

look at notepad2 here: That’ll answer your questions, it is though inferior to pn, because it has no multi-document capability and no code folding! 1) Well obviously you know what i meant with Tray 2) Just transparent. Like: What is usually a white background where the text is ontop is now to a adjustable degree transparent so you are able to see through the desktop (for example to keep track of your mail or contacts or the weather whatever app is running below pn) |

1) the-place-nearby-the-clock-and-the-speaker-symbol is the Notification Area. Do not give it names 2) Nice way to distract one from actual work and I question the readablility of this – one of the reasons why Vista makes the non-client area of windows transparent only and not the whole window. Most of the mentioned programs place an icon in the notification area to inform you about actions. I missed this in my previous post: the “request feature” should open the SourceForge feature request page. |

Well, I see you don’t need these features. But at least the first two wouldn’t be that big of a deal to implement. So: Why not? I would appreciate keeping pn, and not be seeking another editor meeting my specs. I think I travelled long enough from (Win Notepad)->Metapad->Asmedit->Proton->Notepad2->Notepad++ ->Programmers notepad. You know i am just sick of looking for another one. |

1. Tray: Most likely will happen, but will be disabled by default. I don’t understand it and I agree that it shouldn’t be there but I get plenty of requests for it and it’s not too difficult to do. 2. Transparent Window: Possible, but less likely. This is the first request I’ve had for it. 3. Toolbar buttons for tools will almost certainly happen at some point! |
