The above is what editors start with NEW HTML page. Doesn’t PN 2.2 have that feature? I am trying out PN… hoping there would be “autocomplete” (but not?).

Look at the text clips for HTML, there’s one called “HTML Doc” which starts a new HTML document for you, so:

1. Create new HTML document

2. Type “doc” and press tab, you now have a template to fill in.

For PN 2.4, what about adding a special attribute to textclip files, which will auto-insert a certain clip as template?

<clips name="XHTML">

<clip name="Basic structure" shortcut="doc" template="html"></clip>

...

</clips>

New -> Document -> HTML — “Basic structure” template will be inserted into new document

Yes, I’ve been thinking about something along those lines. Given that clips are tied to schemes now, I was thinking just something like a special clip name like “template”.

Really good idea! Why an extra attribute if there can be a special name :D

It should rather be ~template or {template} than just template imo, to make clear, that it’s not a regular clip. Furthermore, a leading ~ or { will put it at the bottom of clip list.

I have my own text clip with a heading shortcut but the “doc” text clip doesn’t seem to work for me is it in some new version? I have PN 2.3.2.2300.

Clip improvements for 2.2

Did you set the HTML scheme? If it’s set to Plaintext or PHP, it won’t work.

I now see that it’s in

PN2clipswebxhtml.clips, but I didn’t had this in

PN2settingswebxhtml.clips

So it seems like it wasn’t updated. Bug or a feature?

It would probably be better if PN2settings would only contain new, overridden or removed templates (e.g. clip name=”table” is_removed=”true”). Having thought of that adding a unique and unchangeable id for each clip would probably be a good idea.

BTW. I like the ${X:blah} thing and that you can add this few times and it gets duplicated. I’ve added this to my XHTML template:

<meta name="author" content="${2:Author}" />

<meta name="copyright" content="${2:Author}" />

like a concert, ballet or Calgary Asian Escort other aesthetic event after which the performers throw their clothes down and leave them in the wardrobes. Seminars used to be held during the day, but now most of the events, specifically corporate Calgary Escort ones and other crowd pulling parties start at night and continue Calgary Asian Escorts till early morning. People can choose any of these look accessories to elevate their looks. I don’t distinguish with respect to you, but with a view me, being a clone of Calgary Escorts

harry is not a satisfactory way to be primordia

I see how it worked. But not what I am asking. I am asking how to setup a format so that when I create a new HTML, the page will automatically be filled in as following (from W3S) :

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN”

http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd”&gt;

<html>

<head>

<title>Title of the document</title>

</head>

<body>

The content of the document……

</body>

</html>

Where is the “doc—tab” setup? I want to edit so that it will spell out the:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN”

http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd”&gt;

Also, is there more into “autocomplete”? When I type codes or something, it doesn’t come on? It only come on certian parts. I have to say that VS has the best “autocomplete” (MS actually call it “Intellisense”). I know… we aren’t supposed to be able to beat MS?
