First, let me say that I love programmer’s notepad. I use it for java development, and it’s by far the best editor I’ve found.
One thing that really bothers me, though, is the order that open files are listed in the Open Files window. I’d really like to be able to sort this list alphabetically.
It appears that they are listed in the order that they were opened in, but as I work, I tend to get many files open at once, and I have no idea which order they were opened in. This makes it very difficult to navigate my open files. I’ve found it’s easier to just use the Projects window, and re-open each file as I need it, rather than searching for the file I already have open.
Ideally, I think this ought to be a setting. Maybe it could be in a context menu that appears on right click in the Open Files window – just like the sort order appears in the windows explorer context menu.
Thanks for a great product. If there’s already some way of doing what I want, I’d love to hear it. Otherwise, please consider it in a future release.

Thanks, I’ve bumped the priority of a related feature request on the tracker, it would be good to support sorting in Open Files:

That sounds great. Thanks.
I’ve been thinking that sorting the Tags window would be a really great improvement also. I thought I’d mention it now, as it might make sense to make both changes at the same time, if the two lists are both backed by the same set.
