I starting using PN with the AVRGCC tools. Recently, I wanted to work with the MSPGCC and since there is no frontend, PN came to mind.

I happily converted all the tools settings from AVRGCC to MSPGCC and things worked great. In the back of my mind however was the suspicion of doom.

When I opened the last AVR project, I found all the MSPGCC command settings. All the AVRGCC ones were lost.

It would be very helpful if the entire context of the project were save, including tools. This was switching between targets after the initial setup would be simple.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jim

This is what project templates are for. They’re a little unexplained right now but basically they allow you to have different sets of tools for different types of projects.

So, your AVR project can have AVR tools like likewise for your MSPGCC projects. I’ll try and get a simple How-To done over the next week or so.

Hi Simon,

Yes please provide a little hint.

I thought you would make a template to include make debug etc for each target but it’s not immediatly apparent how to do this.

We need something like the demo capture tools that simply record your mouse moves and display responsed. That way all you need do is create to templates and voila.

I tried to create one but didn’t see how to create independant templates.

It must be Friday.

Thanks,

Jim
