ok, maybe it’s just me, but I feel that the info about making add-ons to PN are a bit scarce.

I’d have to say, that I don’t have eons of experience in DLL programming, but I do know a bit C++.

My request is as following; Could someone, please, write just a quick summary of what I need do to get up and running? – Tools, special compilers, libs, etc.

Many thanks in advance! :)

Sure, this will come. The extensions interface is only just available in the development builds so it’s all a bit early at the moment. Keep an eye on the forums and blog.

I was hoping for an early start, since I need the add-on in near future.

I was also considering the posibility to use Python. PyPN allows me to script extensions, right?

Unfortunatly, I can’t get the dev build – thus neither PyPN – up and running, atm :/

Will be looking forward to the next stable build with great anticipation ! :)

Thanks

Why can’t you run the development build? If you need help just ask here!

To get started writing extensions you’ll need a modern Visual C++ compiler like the one freely available from MS. You also need Boost from http://www.boost.org/

To use python you’ll just need the development build, PyPN and Python 2.4.
