Relating new file extension to a scheme

My .ASM and .C files open with the proper scheme but my .A51 (assembler) files open as plain text. Is there a way I can get the .A51 extension to load the assembler scheme on startup?

Also I wonder if there is a way to set tabs to 3 for .C and tabs to 8 for .ASM on startup?

Tools → Options. Then click on “Files”. There are all relations listed between file types and the schemes. Just add .a51 and select the scheme “Assembler”.

For the second problem I don’t have a solution at the moment.
