   Hi,

   I checked out svn newest version and try to build using my visual studio, but it's failed and previous version is ok. Would you have a required env. description for building pn? My env. are: visual studion 2005 SP1, boost 1.35, wtl 8.0. OS is WinXP SP2.

   By the way, how to build static link with msvcr80.dll? I try to do, but it failed.

   Hi, you're mostly there, at the moment we have a few extra requirements:

   1. Update your WTL to their latest from SVN

   2. Put the latest scintilla sources into pnwtl\scintilla

   3. Extract these files and copy them over their scintilla originals:
   http://pnotepad.org/files/ScintillaPatches.zip

   4. You may currently need an up-to-date set of Windows SDK headers to build due to the new Vista dialogs support, I'd be willing to accept a patch that placed that behind a #ifdef to allow building on a machine without it.

   Let me know if you still have trouble.

   Hi,

   Thanks. I have updated follow 1,2,3. For 4, do you mean I should install VS 2005 SP1 Update for Vista? If yes, should I replace Windows SDK headers directory to new directory in Project Directory Setting? Or have other method to do this.

   I would recommend installing SP1 anyway, but that's not what I'm referring to. The Windows SDK update comes separately, you can find either a Vista one or a 2k8 server one I think. If you download just the headers it's not too big, the documentation is big though.

   Once you've installed it, there's a tool provided that switches the headers for VS 2005.
